Father Aloysius Schwartz












Msgr. Aloysius Schwartz, 1930-1992.

A Servant of God.
Ordained a diocesan priest in 1957, and assigned
to Busan, Korea, his was a life of love for children
in need. “Father Al” helped the poor and lived
a life of poverty. He founded the Sisters of Mary
School and Asian Relief now World Villages for Children
and his work spread to the Philippines, Mexico,
Guatemala and Brazil. His last three years were full
of pain and suffering from ALS disease. But even in
a wheelchair he continued to fulfill his duties with
joy. He was buried at our Children’s Village for
Girls in Cavite, the Philippines. The Process for the
Causes of Beatification and Canonization has been
officially opened by the Vatican, which hopefully
will one day lead to Father Al being declared a
Saint by the Catholic Church.
