Peaceful Warrior

I accidentally saw this movie in a friend's laptop and I copied it without any intention of watching it or whatsoever. Then one night, I got bored doing the same old stuff after work and tried welcoming different avenues while my lovely wife wasn't arround(in internet) and I tried watching this film without so much expectations of what it has to offer. I thought it will be boring. But this conversation caught my attention.

Dan: What the hell did you just do? How the hell did you get up there?
Socrates: You like things explained, ....don't you?
Dan: Look! thats roof's gotta be at least ten, maybe twelve feet high, no human can do a vertical leap over four-five feet tops I know, I'm a gymnast. Toughest man sport in the world most people don't know that.
Socrates: Spartans of ancient Greece where gymnast too, they evolved through their balls, trained their leap warriors with their prey did you know that?
Dan: I know more than you think
Socrates: And you think more than you know
-----------------------------------
Dan: What kind of a warrior trains by sitting around!, scrubbing toilets!?
Socrates: When you become a warrior you learned to meditate your every action.
Dan: Scrubbing toilets!?
Socrates: Let go of attachments, .....like your pride. Giving up your addiction
Dan: Yeah! name one thing I'm addicted to?
Socrates: Talkin', specially interrupting, knowing everything when infact you know nothing.
Dan: You really think that this is going to expand my awarenes of everything?
------------------------------------
Dan: There's never nothing going on. There are no ordinary moments
Socrates: Somethings wrong?
Dan: We don't do this anymore remember? We know better.
Socrates: We're better than anyone who doesnt know what we know of the way we do, is that what you mean?
Dan: Not better maybe, ....smarter
Socrates: There is no better...you will never be better. Same way you'll never be less than anybody else. The habit is the problem. All you really need to do is be conscious of your choices and responsible for your actions.

“Faith means living with uncertainty - feeling your way through life, letting your heart guide you like a lantern in the dark”

“Everything you'll ever need to know is within you; the secrets of the universe are imprinted on the cells of your body. But you haven't learned how to read the wisdom of the body”

“If you don't get what you want, you suffer; if you get what you don't want, you suffer; even when you get exactly what you want, you still suffer because you can't hold on to it forever. Your mind is your predicament. It wants to be free of change. Free of pain, free of the obligations of life and death. But change is a law, and no amount of pretending will alter that reality.”

I ended up finishing the entire movie. A gymnast that broke his leg in a motorcycle accident.

Overcame all obstacle and eight months after the accident, won the championship even with metal braces on his leg. A story of Dan Millman who became an author afterwards and motivational speakers. Indeed, in our lives, it was and it will be the journey that brought us and will bring us more happiness and not the destination.
